One of the reasons to move ahead with actions against climate change is that we are in a position where ACTION must precede certainty. We cannot wait for certainty. We have years, maybe a couple decades before we've already loaded the climate for changes we can only guess at right now.
We still need to hook into the science...
Even though we need to act now (in the next decade), we still need guidance from the scientific community. It looks like the science is supporting a 2-3 degree warming over the next 50 years, which would push us past the tipping point for 12 meter rise... but this is NEW information, not vetted by the IPCC.
